Big Change In Temperatures Coming: Here's Brand-New Day-By-Day Outlook

A gradual increase in warmer air will reach its peak in the middle of this week with the high temperature reaching summerlike levels.

"After an extended stretch of chilly May weather, a comfortable return to milder conditions is in store across the Northeast throughout much of the upcoming week," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham said.

Here's a day-by-day look at what to expect:

Monday, May 17: A mostly sunny start to the day will be followed by a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms from mid-afternoon to late afternoon. The high temperature will again be in the low to mid 70s with calm winds.

It will be partly cloudy overnight with the low temperature around 50 degrees.

Tuesday, May 18: An early taste of summer starts as temperatures will climb into the upper 70s. It will be partly to mostly sunny.

Wind gusts will be up to. 20 miles per hour.

Wednesday, May 19: Sunny and even warmer with a high temperature climbing to the low 80s.

Thursday, May 20: The summer preview continues on another 80-degree day, with partly sunny skies and the high in the low 80s.

Friday, May 21: Partly sunny and continued warm with the high temperature in the upper 70s.
